Demands Sufficient Time to Read The Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Rand Paul today stood on the Senate floor and objected to the unanimous consent request passage of H.R. 2576. Senator Rand Paul believes lawmakers should read legislation before voting on it. This legislation today was being unnecessarily rushed without an opportunity for review.

“I promised the people of Kentucky that I would read every bill before voting for or against it. I couldn’t in good conscience today support this significant piece of legislation without being given an opportunity to examine it closely” said Senator Paul.
