WASHINGTON, D.C. – This afternoon, U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee members Rand Paul (R-KY) and Tom Udall (D-NM) joined The Lead with Jake Tapper to discuss the 2019 American Forces Going Home After Noble (AFGHAN) Service Act, legislation they introduced today to declare victory in Afghanistan and end America’s longest war.
The bill also honors the service members who bravely serve our nation by providing bonuses to those who have deployed in support of the Global War on Terrorism, and it redirects the savings from ending nation-building in Afghanistan to America’s needs at home.
“It’s time to bring our troops home. We have completed our mission. We won,” said Sen. Paul.
