WASHINGTON, D.C. – Earlier this week, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) joined Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) at The George Washington University to call for protecting Americans’ civil liberties and restraining government overreach by reforming the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
You can watch Dr. Paul’s opening remarks at the event HERE.
In October, Sens. Paul and Wyden introduced S. 1997, the USA Rights Act, which reforms Section 702 of FISA to end warrantless backdoor searches of Americans’ calls, emails, texts, and other communications that are routinely swept up under a program designed to spy on foreign targets.
