WASHINGTON, D.C. –  On Tuesday, September 28th, physician and U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) will meet with Christopher 2X and University of Louisville Health surgeons Dr. Keith Miller and Dr. Christopher Jones at his Senate office in Washington, D.C. for a briefing and discussion of the Future Healers program. Dr. Paul, joined by the attendees, will hold a press call after the meeting for interested members of the media.

The Future Healers program is designed to encourage youth in the neighborhoods most affected by violence to pursue lives of healing as health care professionals. The discussion between Dr. Paul, Christopher 2X, Dr. Jones, and Dr. Miller is likely to cover the seriousness of the impact of secondary trauma on children ages 4-13.

Dr. Paul’s invitation to the Future Healers program was previously announced in July. It was spurred by Dr. Paul’s public appearance with Christopher 2X in Louisville, Kentucky, where they discussed the ongoing violence problem in the city, as well as the Future Healers program and their efforts to expose at-risk youth to potential careers in medicine. Dr. Paul has also arranged for these Kentuckians to meet with fellow Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell as well as other Kentuckians in Washington during their visit to the nation’s capital.
