WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) released the following statement congratulating Kentuckian John Nalbandian on his confirmation as a United States Judge for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals:
“From the beginning of his law career clerking for my good family friend Judge Jerry Smith, to his appellate work in Kentucky and Ohio, John Nalbandian brings decades of experience to the federal bench. Guided by his commitment to uphold and protect the Constitution, and as an impartial arbiter of our nation’s laws, I am confident that Mr. Nalbandian will serve the country well on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and I offer him my most sincere congratulations.”
Mr. John B. Nalbandian, a Union, Kentucky, resident, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (1991) and University of Virginia School of Law (1994). After a clerkship with Judge Jerry E. Smith on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas, Mr. Nalbandian worked at a private practice in Washington, D.C., and then moved to Kentucky, where he continued his appellate practice at the Taft Stettinius & Hollister law firm. Mr. Nalbandian graduated from the Leadership Northern Kentucky class in 2003. He has been recognized annually since 2007 by Best Lawyers in America for his work in Appellate Law, and was named a 2016 “Lawyer of the Year” for Cincinnati Appellate Practice. He has served as a Special Justice on the Kentucky Supreme Court and is a frequent presenter on appellate practice.
